Alwan al Showaya (Arabic: علوان الشویع) was a singer from al-Ahwaz, and the inventor of the Arabic singing style “''ʿAlwānī''”, a term taken from his name. ''ʿAlwānī'' style went beyond the borders of Khuzestan, Iran, and was introduced in Iraq, Bahrain, and Kuwait.〔(website satrap of iran )〕 Now the artists and the singers in those countries know ''ʿAlwānī'' as the name of ahwazian alwan. In this style, Alwan was playing the instrument ''rabab'', which is a traditional construction of Khuzestan, and south of Iraq, was singing poems of famous poets from now and the past, and also was telling the names of poets as he was singing the poems.〔(website rezwan )〕〔()〕〔(khoznews website )〕 == His life ==
